Our Mission Statement:

The DANG Foundation was founded in 2009 as a source of information and support for gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgendered men and women living with diabetes and their friends, partners, boyfriends, girlfriends, spouses and roommates

Living with diabetes is a challenge. Living with diabetes in the gay community presents some unique challenges that heterosexuals don’t have to worry about.

Presently, the American Diabetes Association does not address gay and lesbian issues. In addition, within the diabetes health care community, LGBT patients are an unrecognized minority and DANG is an attempt to correct this dang oversight and provide LGBT diabetics and those living with them as partners, spouses, lovers, boyfriends, girlfriends or roommates a source of information and support.

If you are an LGBT person with diabetes, please contact us and learn about our services, events and research initiatives.

If you have an LGBT person living with diabetes in your life, then you are one of the unsung heroes in our community. We strive to provide you with a source of support.

If you’d like a laugh, then check out the cartoons at http://www.tgarnero.com! They are drawn and written by one of our esteemed Board members, Theresa Garnero, APRN, BC-ADM, MSN, CDE.
